Explore Ferrari's legacy

Discover

There's a first time for everything, like the thrill of driving your first car. For Ferrari, that first was the 125 S, a symbol of passion and innovation, igniting a legacy that lives on in every model.

February 24, 1962: The Ferrari 250 GTO, embodying the essence of Ferrari, was presented. It went on to win the International Championship for GT Manufacturers in 1962, 1963, and 1964.

February 4-5, 1967: Three Ferraris - two 330 P4s and a 412 P - take the first three places in the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Perhaps the most famous team-driver pairing came alive on March 10, 1996, in Barcelona. Michael Schumacher joined Ferrari and was given a simple goal: win the world title.

Ferrari won back-to-back Le Mans 24 Hours on June 14-15, 2023, after an intense battle with Toyota. This victory at the Circuit de la Sarthe is one of the team's hardest fought wins.

Ferrari F40

The mid-engine rear-wheel drive Ferrari F40 was produced from 1987 to 1992, designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Ferrari (and was followed by the F50). The performance and style draw Chicago drivers to the F40, but for many collectors, this is a particularly special model not for what it is but for how it was made. The Ferrari F40 was the last Ferrari vehicle that was personally approved by Enzo Ferrari

Engine Details

Regarded as the first 200-mph production car, the F40’s 2.9L twin-turbo V8 generated 471 hp and 426 lb-ft of torque. These are impressive performance figures, even for today. While the official specs reported by Ferrari were already impressive on their own, many experts agreed that this was an underestimate, with claims that the Ferrari F40 easily broke 500 hp.

The F40 engine allowed it to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.1 seconds, let it clear 400 meters in 11.9 seconds, and travel a kilometer in just 20.9 seconds.
